Lustrum concert Utrechtse Studenten Cantorij

Nicolaiconcert

The Nicolaïkerk (St. Nicholas church) is a medieval church in the southern part of the old city of Utrecht in the Netherlands. This building is the home of two very interesting instruments, the organ built by Marcussen and the carillon built by the famous Hemony brothers (17th century). These instruments are the backbone for a series of concerts, which are organised each year by the Stichting Culturele Evenementen Nicolaïkerk (Foundation for Cultural Events in the Nicolaïkerk ).

Duration of the concerts is approx. 45 minutes.
Tickets are sold at the entrance of the church, doors open half an hour before concert start time. No reservation is needed.

For the current program you can browse our program agenda.

The Nicolaikerk is located at the Nicolaaskerkhof in the inner city of Utrecht (See city map Utrecht).

Lustrum concert Utrechtse Studenten Cantorij

Lustrum concert Utrechtse Studenten Cantorij
The Utrechtse Studenten Cantorij is the student chamber choir of Utrecht. The choir consists of talented singers, the majority of whom study at the University of Applied Sciences or Utrecht University. It is a close-knit choir where enthusiasm and passion are combined with ambition and quality. The conductor is Fokko Oldenhuis, one of the artistic advisors of the SCEN.
The USCantorij was founded in 1964 and will therefore be 60 years old in 2024. To mark the occasion, we at SCEN are organizing an anniversary concert together with the USCantorij on Friday evening, December 13. Organists Dorien Schouten and Ko Zwanenburg will participate in this concert. The main part of the program is formed by the Chichester Psalms for choir, organ, harp and percussion by the legendary American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein.
Tickets are available via website Utrechtse Studenten Cantorij
