Festival Orgel Anders | New & Old

Nicolaiconcert

The Nicolaïkerk (St. Nicholas church) is a medieval church in the southern part of the old city of Utrecht in the Netherlands. This building is the home of two very interesting instruments, the organ built by Marcussen and the carillon built by the famous Hemony brothers (17th century). These instruments are the backbone for a series of concerts, which are organised each year by the Stichting Culturele Evenementen Nicolaïkerk (Foundation for Cultural Events in the Nicolaïkerk ).

Duration of the concerts is approx. 45 minutes.

For programs of the past years you can browse our program archive.

The Nicolaikerk is located at the Nicolaaskerkhof in the inner city of Utrecht (See city map Utrecht).

HOT Het Orgel Trio

Het Orgel Trio (HOT) (The Organ Trio) is 10 years old!
A program to remember on October 13th and 14th.

On Friday 13 and Saturday 14 October, HOT Het Orgel Trio - consisting of organist Berry van Berkum, double bassist Dion Nijland and clarinetist Steven Kamperman - will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a festival that offers a stimulating look at the organ phenomenon! You can hear a mix of composed and improvised music, jazz and rock, up to reinterpretations of Sweelinck's seventeenth-century work. In the specially illuminated Nicolai Church, let yourself be carried away on a sea of organ sounds: from dark low to sparkling high, from rationally ordered to wildly undulating.
